As we all know, word of mouth advertising is the best form of advertising. As a business involved in the world of clothing, design and fashion we often have conversations with individuals about such matters as tailoring, fabrics, design and so forth..  and in many of those conversations you get the inside scoup on the who’s who of either fashion, design or tailoring in the city. One of those names that is in high regard in San Francisco when it comes to tailoring is Vladimir Vladimirov Executive Tailored Clothes.  The name has come up so often in fact that we needed to check him out for ourselves. My wife took her suit pants to Vladimir for an alteration that we knew would require a great deal of skill and expertise. The final result of the alteration was absolutely fantastic.

Having lived in Alameda California for the brief period of close to two years, one of the great pleasures I discovered there was the Frank Bette Center For The Arts.  The cozy gallery which is now the Frank Bette Center was once the home of Frank Bette between the years of 1950-1999. Frank Bette was a German born artist who emigrated to the United States in 1927. During his life Frank Bette produced paintings, drawings, sculpture and even occasional pieces of poetry later in life. The mission behind the Frank Bette Center is the mission Frank Bette had planned for his home during the late 90’s. Recently, I had a conversation with Valentina about her way of storing headbands. Her way of storing headbands needs just one item…  can you guess what that is ? Well.. if you haven’t guessed then I will tell you..  are you ready ? Drum roll please…  The answer is a hanger, but not just any hanger… you want to make sure that the hanger you purchase for your headbands is a wooden hanger meant for suits. The suit hanger allows for you to slip and secure pants through the bottom end of the hanger so that the pant does not slip off the hanger. This is a great feature of this type of hanger because it means you can slip your headbands through the way you would pants and keeps all of your bands organized and easily accessible each morning as you prepare to dress for work. 1. With belts, less is more.. well finished leather and understated buckle are all that your belt needs.

2. Hats are back in style !! Hats can really make a personal statement. They come in different shades and colors. Hats can soften the lines of your face and make you look attractive to women. 

3. A fine pair of leather gloves is all you need to look chic and give you that air of sophistication that says you are unique.

4. A cashmere scarf can dress you up for your elegant date. A light shade of grey would be a smart choice for any occasion.  

5. Gold and stainless steel watches are great on dates and are worn by many upper level business men. If you want to impress your date – stay away from leather straps. 

6. Do not wear fake cuff-links !! Find a pair of cuff-links in a natural material. If the cuff-links use colored stone or other natural material be sure to color coordinate those colors with your necktie and shirt.  

7. A slim leather wallet in natural colors is the best. Do not overfill your wallet so that you don’t overstretch the leather and to not create a bulge in your pocket.  

8. Wear light weight wool, fine cotton and nylon for your socks. The lighter the weight the dressier and more impressive the sock. The smoother the weave the more attractive the sock. 

9. Wear shoes that are preferably handmade and of quality stitching. Quality stitching would mean stitching that is barely noticeable and at times completely unseen. Also – be sure that the insole is made of leather so that your feet can breathe naturally.

10. Make sure you have the proper length of shoe lace for the number of eyelets you have on your shoe.
